On OpenStage.one, every event has two important public pages:
- the series overview (one page for the whole series),
- the date detail (a page for one specific occurrence).
On these pages you’ll find actions such as:
- saving/favoriting event series (heart),
- adding dates to your calendar (Google/Outlook/ICS),
- and status indicators like paused or canceled.
1) Save / favorite an event series (heart)
When you are signed in, you can save event series using the heart.
Important: you save the whole series, not just one single date.
How it works:
- You see the heart on the relevant event pages (for example on the series overview and on the date detail).
- After tapping/clicking, the series is stored.
- Later you can find your favorites under
/profile/favorites.
What happens on pause or cancellation?
Even if a series is paused or canceled, it stays in your favorites. You’ll still see the status on the event pages.
2) Add to calendar
When you open a public event, you can use the calendar button (Google Calendar, Outlook, or ICS download).
What matters for you:
- For canceled individual dates, there is usually no calendar button.
- For series, you typically get upcoming (not canceled) dates depending on the current situation.
- If a series is paused and there’s no active future, the calendar button is typically not available.
What you get:
- Google/Outlook open provider dialogs in a new tab/window.
- ICS is downloaded as a file that you can import into your calendar.
3) Understanding statuses: “Paused” vs. “Canceled”
Event pages clearly show what’s currently not “active”:
- Paused: The series is temporarily stopped for the future via the host’s “Pause” action. Active dates may be missing from the list/timeline.
- Canceled: A specific date is canceled.
For you, that mainly means search/listing and calendar options follow these statuses.
FAQ
Do I need to be signed in to favorite?
Yes. Unauthenticated users can see the heart, but will be redirected to login.
Are my favorites public?
No. Favorites are private and only visible under /profile/favorites.
Will an ICS file contain multiple dates?
For series, you typically get multiple upcoming dates as separate events inside one ICS file. For a single date, you get exactly that one date (as long as it isn’t canceled).
